Yup. The strings are annoying. I left one publication because the editor was tagging me in her stories twice a week every week, and there is no way to turn off the emails without turning off notifications altogether. I still got tagged after leaving, so had to ask to be removed from the list, as I'd left the publication.

I want to know when someone's recommending or complimenting my work, but not when they're just demanding I read their stories. I'm sure it increases earnings for those who do it, but I just wouldn't have the nerve to tag people on a story that wasn't relevant to them, or mentioned them in some way.
