You make some good points, but there's a good reason to be anonymous sometimes, especially on sites like this, if people want to write about their lives, family, abuse they've experienced, painful subjects, without having the family see their work. Or upsetting anyone. Apart from that, and just for fun, in novels, sometimes anonymity can be a bad thing.
