You are very wise.

To remain angry at what happened would mean they still control my life. To try to force them to talk about what they have spent decades trying to bury would bring back the pain in me. In the end, it was never up to me to do their parenting job for them.

You are very wise. I forced it and it ate me up for years. It wasn't until they literally refused to discuss it anymore than I was forced to bury it too. And it's easier.
