Yes, you're spot on. They should be seeking asylum at the first safe country, and the fact that so many choose to come to the UK before making their claim is a problem. I'd rather see rapid turnaround of applications, but this seems to be beyond the current ability of our government. So I thought the topic of unfilled vacancies was an interesting point of debate, alongside the obvious problem - and what Germany is doing. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
