Yes, that's the trouble, it's so inconsistent and unreliable. I'm almost ready to just give up and live on my husband's pension when he retires. But I'd want to keep writing a bit.
I think the frustrating thing is amount of time, effort, and sheer volume of publishing needed to make that amount over three years. I've published almost everyday since I started and hoped the perseverence would pay off.
But you're right. If I went and got a job in Tesco, I'd get $20k more every year for the same hours. But I don't want to work in Tesco. LOL
I'm going to try and salvage my magazine career and then cry when it goes wrong. 🙂
