Yes, it occurred to me that writers in developing countries wouldn't mind the low returns because the money goes so much further. But they still have to pay for membership - and might still struggle to cover the monthly fee. Although I heard that the fee is lower in some countries, so maybe exceeding the cost of the fee is easier.

And yes, I thought maybe this was the plan all along. Get cheaper writers who don't complain about low rates to do the work.
