Yes, impressions are the impressions on the page - before there's been any interaction with the page. The views are the number of times someone clicked through. The read is when someone has spent 30 seconds or more on the story. Dr Mehmet thinks his stories are not being circulated based on the views, but the views are the people who clicked through and then clicked away in less than 30 seconds - the people who chose not to read. The stories in his examples reached 500 views, as is normal for everyone under the boost program. It's up to the writer to make the first few lines so good that people keep reading. If the read rate is low, it's arguably a failure of the writer, not the system.

Boost managers have said that our stories will usually continue to be circulated (show impressions) until they have reached at least 500 views. Some will need more impressions than others to achieve those click throughs.
