Yes, I still think she might be wrong, but it's one of those things where I'm clearly on the edge - very mild - if I am autistic. I don't have the same difficulties as some people, but my sister who's spent her life working with autistic people is convinced I am autistic. I'd like to know, but in some ways I don't want to push it too much. Perhaps I'm just this side of the edge. They have to draw the line somewhere. The line might be in a different place with different assessors. I got a sense that if I'd begged, she'd have given me a diagnosis, but I didn't want a diagnosis for the sake of it. I wanted an honest opinion. I don't think there's any help for people like me. I think I would benefit from counselling, which isn't available to people who aren't suicidal in my area. And I'm not going to pretend, so I just try to focus on the good things in life. There are many good things, so I'm not in a bad position.
