Yes, I realise there’s a whole other article on that topic. And a lot of people feel high functioning is a bad label. I know someone who describes his own autism as mild, so I think that’s less controversial. Perhaps when the profession come up with a way of differentiating between the two extreme ends of the spectrum, we’ll all find a more suitable way of describing it.
