Yes, I had to get one online. There are ways around it. But it took me ages to do it and I was prepared to pay for it if I had to. I dithered for a long time and tried a variety of free numbers that were all 'taken' by other users. They don't want non-US people to join, I don't think. That makes sense if they want only local stories now.
