Yes, I agree. We're trying to change agents, and need to put the price up by an extra £200-£300 a month. I *don't* think they'll pay it.
Apparently, the council's official position on evictions is to stay there until you get forced out by the courts. So that'll be nice. I hear it can cost £2k including bailiffs, to get rid, so we'll see how that goes.
It's one of those things where the damage is done, and we've decided not to repair all of it. So in some ways, if they choose to pay the extra, they might as well stay and we'll sort it out after they've gone, but we don't think they will pay more. They've spent the whole tenancy moaning about costs and saying that cannot afford anything.
Plus, they've got 3 kids and two cats, so lots of landlords won't even consider housing them. We don't want to make them homeless, but respect needs to work both ways, and we're no longer prepared to provide them with social housing.
And, as you say, I could definitely do without the stress of knowing they're behaving badly - which is making us seriously consider just selling up.
