We sent them the bills for the cat urine treatments and blockers, to the value of £196 and they paid those. We felt they didn't have a leg to stand on with regards to that. The other stuff, like redecorating, they contributed to by losing their deposit. And new carpets would probably have been needed anyway. There's so much subjectivity around what is reasonable. We wanted to go after them for the £196 for the cat piss treatments, and ideally would have liked to charge for our time, but wanted to be realistic about what they were likely to pay without taking it to court. I think we've got what we can and are keen to sell and move on now. BUT I definitely don't want to pay their council tax bill!
