We are planning to proceed at the moment, but just felt this was an unfortunate opening, which should not have happened.
We reached the conclusion that the staff hadn't read the guidance, and had probably just been told about the new guidance in a training session, been told what to say, and to get the customers to sign these disclaimers.
We don't think they knew what the guidance said because they hadn't read it. And today, the guy in sales pretty much admitted that was true. He said me raising the issue had made him go away and read some of it!
No one is offering rebates, but the group buying price seems good. The estimated payback is 3x over 30 years, which I detailed in the article, but it's probably more like 2x because there are maintenance costs, replacement parts, and deconstruction costs at end of life, which all cost.
We get sun every day. It doesn't need full sunshine. It will still charge in daytime, but less if gloomy, obviously. Days of good weather are extremely variable.
There are good guarantees on the materials. The labour is covered in so much as they will come back to resolve any problems if it's not working. I don't think there are any additional protections, but it should be functional. Oh, if they go bust, so cannot finish it, there's something in place so another company steps in to finish it.
