Very true. If our work was circulated within subject areas, not just to our networks, there would be no need for a lot of deliberate reciprocal engagement, and some would happen by chance anyway, but our work would find natural audiences.

I am so afraid of creating a lot of work for myself on Substack, that I haven't ventured there yet. Doing stock photography and pitching to magazines.
