This is why I'm not a fan of editing on Medium. It's often personal. The little unnecessary word in there is deliberate because it slightly changes the meaning and that's intentional and important. And when Grammarly says take it out, it just doesn't understand who the small differences that I deliberately include in my personal stories are there for a reason.

I've also had some awful magazine editors who have turned the odd paragraph into meaningless nonsense, because they were rushing and no one bothered to proof read it.

I'm glad you've had good editors, but the jury's out here. I still prefer my stuff is left alone, unless there's an obvious typo!! Well, no one is perfect. LOL 😆
