This is why I am very reluctant to write anything too personal, emotional, etc on here, and why I'm guarded to some extent about my opinions. Because you just never know what the reaction is going to be... and sometimes it's horrible. I had someone take a pop just because I'd written about positive thinking. My article briefly explored how I helped myself during the darkest time in my life. It wasn't judging anyone else, yet I was told that explaining what helped me amounted to gaslighting and was offensive. I won't write about that subject any more. And I'm certainly not going to talk about my darkest times or what helped me.

Saying that, for the most part, it was just one person on here, followed by a bunch of people on twitter who chimed in to the same tune. For the most part, medium has been a pleasure, but I'm very conscious it could go wrong, so I watch what I say. It's sad, but I guess that's modern life an social media. There are probably a lot of people who agree with you, but are frightened to say so.

I know nothing of what happened in Canada, so I'd be interested to have read it!
