This is my way of thinking. I'm a pro. When something was previously written for a magazine - or is at that standard - I hope to get a comparable rate to a magazine, and that's rarely possible on Medium without the boost.

I know not all my stuff makes the grade. I do stuff for fun or curiosity, but some stuff is worth considering for the boost, and I like to feel I can say so if I think something has potential. But I feel it's now so frowned upon that if you say so, you're automatically not considered.

And the whole thing of not nominating published material is just crazy. Anyway, the history guy seems to like my work. Thank goodness.
