They do this in the UK too. The usual thing is "Cheer up! It might never happen!"

Usually, it already has. Although this was when I was younger. I don't tend to get it now. Maybe because I live a more secluded life, or maybe because I'm older. I'm not sure. Either way, it's annoying and none of their business.
