They didn't study that affect, but out of curiosity, I Googled it, and it looks like study results are mixed. One said screen time is negatively associated with children's intelligence at age 9-10, while video games showed no association. Another study showed a positive effect on intelligence from video games, but no effect from TV and social media.

Those were, I think the kids playing though. Being generally ignored by the parents has to be bad, surely?
