The sickening feeling is just getting worse and worse. Now the estate agent is trying to get property developers interested. And you know how they like to buy at auction for rock bottom prices. And we've just found out that the rental income could have been multiplied by simply handing our house to the council on a 5 year lease because the rent was so low, due to the agent lying to us and refusing to put it up. Honestly, we are now considering renting again because we're heading into winter, the market is dead, the council tax bills will go to 1.5x normal rates if it's not occupied by March, and in the meantime, we have to heat an empty house. I couldn't have imagined a much worse scenario if I'd tried. Could only get worse if squatters moved in, but there's time yet. I might write an update.
