The new school sounds so much better for her. Many of her experiences are similar to my own childhood, where she's looking out the window and struggling with anxiety. They used to think I was daydreaming, but I was probably managing anxiety and overwhelm from relentless bullying.

I longed to be taken out of school, but there was no support back in the 1970s and '80s. It's so good that these days teachers look out for kids better and there's support and advice when you need it.

I suspect I may be mildly autistic, but it's a bit of a borderline case.
