The lovely thing about writing is that you can live anywhere. I live in the UK, but I write for American, Canadian and Australian publications, as well as British ones, so it shouldn't really matter where you live. The only limit I have is being able to comment knowledgably on domestic issues in other countries, but then, that's really only a problem if you're going into a field of journalism where local knowledge is important. And journalists with skills in demand would probably have no trouble getting in anyway.

I've only ever had editors work with me remotely, and they could be in Timbuktu for all I know. I've never asked. Although some are in the USA. I know that much. Being in another country is not much of a barrier to entry in large parts of the publishing world. That's one of the things that makes it so fabulous!
