The excitement of the unknown is a good reason! I always wanted to try caving and never did because of financial priorities, lack of local caves, and a husband who's averse to such things. But I have a suspicion that doing it once would satisfy my curiosity and probably be quite uncomfortable! And moderately unnerving.
