That's what I thought, but I'm told there are automated systems, or bots, that strip everything on the internet and store copies of everything, which they then sell on the dark web. If you update an article, that gets stripped and stored too. But the bottom line, is there's not enough demand for content to plagiarise literally everything on the web. So, perhaps the original copy will now disappear into oblivion.
