Thanks for the tips. I have a piece in my drafts that I penned years ago for a big pub that rejected it. I lost my confidence, but it's a good piece which might suit career paths. Now isn't a bad time, either because people might be reviewing their work ambitions, so you can add me if you'd like and see it?

I feel a bit frustrated about the boost program. Even though December was good, I've had very little boosted before that. I'd pretty much given up.

Then recently, I found two followers were boosters, so I thought I'd push up some of my best material. But even the boost noms would rather read 2 minute pieces about Medium than a longer deep dive into historical scandals or interviews.

If no one reads a piece how are they supposed to know if it's any good? This happens to all my best stories. Anything over 3 minutes gets virtually no attention. Everything I send to Illumination Curated, because Dr M is a booster, does terribly.

Maybe it's just my subject matter that's wrong. I feel defeated. I've opened my own pub, invited folks to contribute and will try to get on board as a nominator myself, so at least more of my work gets a chance.

You said I should be able to get 2 quality stories boosted a month, but how can I get 2 stories boosted a month if no one reads the best quality stories, but all clamber after anything about Medium.

One guy said a piece about a blind man was the best thing he’d read on Medium, but it got so few views, even when I tried to publish a second time. Maybe third time will be lucky, like they were at Christmas.

ps. You might like the piece for career paths? It’s about interview technique and I thought it was really good at the time! LOL
