Thanks for the mention Justiss, Sorry to have shaken you. I was pretty shook up as well and have changed a lot of my images over the past week.

It's been quite fun actually creating graphics of my own and photographing dogs, even though my pictures are now less relevant to the stories in some cases.

If it's any comfort, it does seem that the vast majority of legal demands have been around improper attribution, so if you've attributed correctly, as is automatic on Unsplash, you're in a good starting position.

Then there's the one incident of the person who got a legal demand for the Unsplash pic, which I tried to follow up with the man concerned, but he hasn't replied, so I don't know what the outcome was. I have no idea how common the problem is with Unsplash.

There was another story on here, fascinating, which may interest you. The blogger has refused to pay a legal demand. This is his latest post: https://doctorow.medium.com/an-open-letter-to-pixsy-ceo-kain-jones-who-keeps-sending-me-legal-threats-5dfc54558f2c

I hope you can find some comfort in whatever you decide to do going forward. I feel more comfortable having changed some pics and using my own going forward. Strangely, it hasn't done my views and reads any harm at all - I'd say, overall, they've gone up!

Oh - and on being distributed? I cannot imagine it makes any difference. A friend pointed out that half the stories flagged in the medium emails aren't credited at all! I had a story without photo credits distributed when I started here.
