Surely it's the customers of these fossil fuel companies who are causing the bulk of emissions by using the fuel. The people who extract and sell it are just meeting demand. Or do they independently burn more for their own uses? I've always thought blame is shifted to suppliers, without recognising that it's simply about demand from consumers. Extinguish demand and your job is done.
