Sometimes it's the only way I can tell if I've already read a story to give it a quick clap from the outset. But I tend to stay on stories for 30 seconds anyway. I mean, it's a short amount of time. Being called away doesn't necessarily mean it won't register if it's open for 30 seconds on the page does it? Medium can't tell if someone is actually sitting there.
