Solid plan. We've stopped doing the traditional Christmas. The thing that broke me was my sister always criticising me - every fucking year - always going back to the hardest time in my life and being rude and objectionable about it. It took me months to get over it. OK, to be true, I haven't really got over it. So, if she can't be nice, I won't go. Simple. Shame really. We get gifts from charity shops. Sometimes they don't seem to like them, but at least it supports a charity. The kids are spoilt brats. I have a collection of similar stories.
