Quite right too. I enjoyed having a TV as a kid, but if you put them in their rooms, you'll lose them to their rooms, so depends on whether you want TV to be social time. When I wanted a TV in my room, I had to get a job, save up, and buy it myself. I was 15.

But I can see the benefit of not having any tech, because TV advertising - but also peers - led me to feel like I was missing out as a kid on all the things the other kids had that I wasn't allowed. So... I don't know. I think it's stupid that little kids have smartphones. I considered myself lucky to get a penny sweet on Saturdays.

Peers are a pain. Living on an island would be ideal.
