I completely understand what you’re saying. It’s just that many people wouldn't understand the concept of plant-based in the headline and from most people's perspective, we follow a vegan diet almost 100% of the time, which is the message I wanted to get across.
I took issue with the idea of throwing animal produce away at an RSPCA event, when someone brought sausage rolls for the buffet. Then at the end, was going to chuck the leftovers into the rubbish. I don’t think throwing animal produce away respects animals. It means they've died for nothing. It’s the ultimate insult. I argued that case — it’s an animal charity — and they saved them for the dogs in the rescue centre, so that was a small win.
I just accept that some people eat meat and won't stop, regardless of what vegans think. So realising that there are problems associated with meat consumption and climate change, ways to decreases those CO2 emissions are an important conversation that people need to have.
