Oh gosh, I'm so sorry you're feeling this way. I hope your workplace has shown more sympathy by now. I was thinking you need to go part-time as I read through your story. It might help you take time to get your thoughts together, get control over your life, and take stock of what you want to do.

I'm feeling overwhelmed at the moment, too. But that's because my life is hectic and there's too much going on. I suspect I'm on the autistic spectrum, but mild compared to people who get diagnosed. Nonetheless, I feel I have a bit of insight to the overwhelm you feel.

I find it better to get things done that are bothering me, so I can stop worrying and relax, but work is an ongoing source of stress when you're working for someone else. I'm self-employed and it works well for me.

I hope you find some resolution at work and help with your anxieties. I'm glad your doctor is listening, too. Hang in there. You're not alone. Your daughter loves you. But the world can seem cruel at times.

I’d be reluctant to say quitting work altogether is a good idea, because it provides a sense of structure and purpose, which if stripped away, can lead to a loss of purpose and worsening of depression. You’d need something to fill that gap if you were to quit altogether.

I’m glad writing is helpful for you.
