Oh dear. So sorry you've been upset by someone's grumble about tagging. I haven't seen the post but can understand how upset you feel.

I don't take part in many challenges, and I'm certainly not in any challenge groups. I think the best way for publications to run challenges is to give them a unique keyword so they can have their own place on a publication's feed. Then, anyone who wants to, can go and have a look.

I do occasionally ask people not to include me in mass tags as I find it annoying if there's no relevance to me, especially if they're complete strangers who have never engaged with me.

But I hope my requests to be removed from mass tag lists are appropriate and don't upset anyone. I wouldn't write an article singling someone out for this. And when I did write a rant for a 'Rant Competition' at the Alternative Eclectic publication, it was about the practice generally and raised a number of experiences, rather than homing in on one of them.

I'm in favour of tagging when someone's recommending one of my stories or something equally as relevant to me!
