Not withstanding the problems that have happened occasionally, I think they are rare. I don't blame you for trying to find your own photos - I am too, but I feel a bit bad if it's causing you difficulties.

There was an interesting take on the topic in another article, which might interest you. I've copied it below.

It talks about Public Domain images - those that are out of copyright, either because it's been 70 years since the death of the copyright holder, or because they've been placed into the public domain by a government organisation etc.
