Actually, my researched, fact-based stories flop, while thoughts and opinions do relatively well. And some people who pretty much only write about themselves and their thoughts, seem to do incredibly well on here.

So while everything you're saying makes sense in the world of Journalism, Medium is another world. I will continue to experiment with both types of writing.
