My recommended feed is now full of stories with 10,000 claps and 200 comments. I categorically refuse to read anything that has that much support. I am here for the underdogs and the middling types. Not the heros. Never read Tim Denning or Ms Wildfire who used to rake it in. Never plan to.

But the thing is, these recommendations they can't all have been boosted. One is a writer who I suspected was a bot, so checked her out in a different account. Not a bot. Just an illiterate woman who can't string a sentence together but unfathomably seems to have thousands of fans. I don't understand. I asked what her secret is, and someone said, she's special. I don't get it.
