My earnings aren't down from last year. They're up almost ten times! I did books - which included ebooks - and decided Medium pays better. My earnings from book publishing are in the article, and only amount to a fraction of the Medium income for a lot of work, so I gave up writing books. I think your skim reading failed on this one. 😉😁 Or perhaps you consider ebooks a different thing to books. I can see that point of view, but I tend to think if you're creating an ebook, why not create a paperback. It's not much extra work.
