This was the worst-performing story this month, despite the considerable time and effort I invested in it, hoping to spark a healthy debate among scientists, clinicians, and the public. Unfortunately, it was overtly suppressed by the algorithm and wasn’t shown to my 3K followers.

Might just be the title. Most people on Medium are just Joe Public who aren't scientists and don't know what the Warberg Effect is. And there's nothing in the title to make them curious.
