Maybe, but my instinct is to remove the problem. As someone who was bullied all through school, until you remove the problem - either school, or the bullies - it will not be resolved. Did the transition coincide with being removed from school? Because as someone who spent my childhood begging to be taken out of that situation and had my own mental health struggles, I would say remove them from the problem situation is the single best thing anyone can do.
