I've only recently realised that you're supposed to use an extractor fan when cooking on gas because the pollution it creates is toxic. I've been using an extractor fan for the past year but didn't bother before.

Also, even in developed countries, there are so many chemicals in everything, there's indoor pollution from all sorts of things outgassing chemicals which aren't good for us either.
