I've just signed up to a solar scheme that will come with a battery. You've got me wondering if I should be waiting for better batteries before buying now.

They do say that the effect on birds is small compared to the effect of domestic cats, but that doesn't help the birds that do get hit. However, there was a study in Norway that showed by painting one blade black, it reduced bird collisions considerably. Not sure why.
