I've just read the comments - the bulk of the readers completely understand. Some idiots - which Medium has placed at the end of the feed as least relevant, are prattling on about it not being much money, as if you were complaining. To anyone with an ounce of sense, it's obvious you were not complaining.

I think it's nice that you have these memories, and it's Ok that you were surprised. Ignore the idiots, and if you want to hide their comments, do.

BTW, I had a piece which was supposed to be light hearted and amusing, and half the people took offence on behalf of my husband. If you want, I'll drop the link, and you can see them rip into me. Solidarity. I added a top and tail to ask them to not take it all so seriously!
