It doesn't really matter where in the world you are, although some magazines prefer writers from certain regions. It depends on the topic of the magazine. Different industries or niches will have different ways of doing things across borders, which may be a problem in some cases.

It's usually easier to get into specialist magazines, especially if you have an area of expertise. It's become quite difficult in recent years because of falling page numbers and magazines closing down.

The most important thing is whether you have a story they really want that they can't do without you.
