Interesting analysis. In the UK there always seem to be a certain proportion of people who just don't want to work and will do the bare minimum to get their benefits. I suspect some of those could fill the gaps, if they really wanted to. That said, I hadn't realised the retiring boomers are enabling younger people to be more choosy. That is an interesting point and explains why in my day we had to take whatever we could get and start at the bottom whereas now they seem to want to go from college straight into management. Optimistic, but sometimes it works.
