In my world no one commissions 100 words, but for a 1000 word article, I'd get anything from £80 to £400 - usually closer to the £80 end. I did have one client who paid £80 for a 2000 word article, but they were topics I enjoyed and could do in a day - he was also very easy to work with.

Rates have been falling in recent years. Some people do offer £50. It then depends on how desperate I am. If I do one of those, it's usually a one off or a reworking of something else, so it's easy to do. I did one piece for £20 from scratch, when I could knock it up in a couple of hours. But I've not pitched to them again. That was too low and disrespectful.

I usually take about a day to write a 1000 word article for a client, including 2-3 rounds of editing and proof reading. So I'm not well paid, but I like the work. You don't say what they're paying you, so it's hard to answer the question.
