I'm in the UK, so the managing agents in the US might be better, but our experiences have been bad. The AirBnB option sounds good if it's working for you.

I think managing these things yourself, if you're local, is much better.

To be honest, the sale isn't going well. We got a buyer quickly, but the agent then took it off the market all summer to respect the sale, then the buyers pulled out citing his wife's health. Nothing to do with the house. And in the UK there is no deposit or anything.

So trying to sell is stressful too. We're now entering the slowest time of year for house sales and it's costing us a shed load of money to keep the house empty, through lost income on money not invested, and through council tax and insurance premiums.

If AirBnB is working well for you, stick with it. You've got me wondering if we should look at it too! :)
