I'm glad we have an NHS here in the UK. But I have to say, it's not easy to be seen anymore. Waiting lists can take years to get an appointment. My husband has just had to go private to get a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease so he can get the medication he needs. He told his doctor he thought he had Parkinson's 3 years ago. She didn't refer him, and now the waiting lists are silly.

Today, he was trying to get his second prescription for the drugs and the local surgery refused, saying he had to go privately - back to his specialist, in Oxford. The same specialist who told him to get the local doctor to prescribe the drugs. It's a nightmare.
