I'd not heard about this. I'm not a fan. It's considerably more than I earn from full-time working at the moment, and I'm not sure who's getting it, but I assume it's people who aren't working full-time. If that's the case, it would remove the incentive to work. We're already haemorrhaging money as a country and our taxes are going to pay off debt interest. It will be interesting to see how it goes, but I suspect it will conclude that the country can't afford it. Interesting that it's a trial happening now though... weird timing.
