I wrote about it recently. I don't mind some highlighting, but it did concern me that too much might make my work less accessible to those who, for whatever reason find it harder to read, distracting, annoying, or whatever.

I did ask medium about whether I could do anything to edit or control the volume of highlights, and they said only those who follow users see their highlights. That was interesting, and good to know.

I passed this on in my article, for anyone who finds them difficult and wants to unfollow highlighters.

It seems to have been well received. I don't mind the chap. He makes intelligent comments sometimes. I did ask if he might highlight less, and we'll see how that goes!
