I would also support wider distribution. My own situation is all over the place. I got excited after getting some boosts in December, completely out of the blue. Then early in the year, I got bold and started to ask for my best pieces to be considered for boost in some nominating publications. I don't think without the ask, they'd have been considered, to be honest. That worked for a handful - one of which you nominated. But in recent months, my luck has crashed. A handful get nominated, but don't get accepted. I know people don't want to be asked anymore, so I don't generally. I don't think any nominators on the memoir publications are actually seeing my stories, so I don't think they're being considered.
But also, I've been away, so perhaps haven't been creating my best work. I thought some of it was good, but hey.
So, I don't know. I think I should just give up. If it happens, it happens. That seems to be the best approach. It's better to write what we think people want to read, and hope it flies organically, I think.
